How many times have you found yourself rummaging through your unorganised jewellery box, struggling to find a single pair of earrings? Probably more often than you’d like to remember! What’s more, each time you do find yourself the time to tidy up the jewellery box, it goes right back to being messy, a few weeks later.
Well, it’s time to change all of that. Its amazing how simple it is to organise your jewellery, such that you never have to worry about your necklaces getting entangled, with just a little bit of creative thinking.
Without further ado, here it goes:
Bracelets and bangles
A simple way of storing chunky bracelets and bangles is using paper towel holders. It also keeps them visible, so you know what you have in your collection. You can also use a bottle’s neck to stack these, keep the bottle steady by filling it with sand.
Often a hassle to store, earrings can easily get separated in the jewellery box. A good way of organising them is keeping them in their own compartment in a drawer. You can also use big buttons to keep the earrings together. If the earrings are dangly, it is best to keep them in such a way that they hang freely. Always store extra earring backs for emergencies.
Compartments are essential to keep the jewellery from getting tangled and messy again. If possible, shop for drawers that come with slots and compartments. Add labels to each section to put the jewellery back in the right place after you’ve worn it. You can also make your own compartmentalised jewellery holder by using kitchen-drawer cutlery holders, dividers and ice-cube trays.
Necklaces get tangled easily, and thus it is best to store them separately, in their own compartments. You can also hang from a freestanding holder or a rack on the wall.
